Kol Nidre Appeal 2020 - 5781

Dear Shaare Zedek Families,

The operations of the synagogue have continued unabated, despite people not being in our building continuously. Most of our operational costs are fixed and must be paid in the same manner as pre Covid 19. Membership, seating and the Kol Nidre Appeal are the major contributors to covering operational costs.

If you do not support the institutions which have nurtured Jewish life for generations during these unique and challenging times, they may not be there for you in the future when things normalize. We need your support today so that we can look forward to a bright future.

We have invested a great deal of time and money to make sure that our live stream results in a first-class experience. We have made investments in cabling, cameras, computers etc. which will serve us well not just for the High Holidays, but for many years to come. We are also investing in professionals to make certain that everything runs smoothly.

Lastly, my family and I are issuing a Kol Nidre challenge. For anyone who increases their pledge from last year we will match the amount of the increase $ for $. For those who did not make a pledge last year, we will match your pledge $ for $. I hope you guys will cost us a lot of money.
