The Grand Lodge of Quebec A.F. & A.M. held their annual service at Shaare Zedek Congregation.  

 

SHAARE ZEDEK CONGREGATION - COMMEMORATIVE CEREMONY
In honour of the memory of the victims of the Pittsburgh Massacre, Shaare Zedek Congregation held a commemorative
ceremony. Dignitaries and guests from all faiths, came to speak, and along with our congregants, a united, heartfelt ceremony
took place at SZC on Shabbat, November 3, 2018.  We must always remember.

transformed SZ on this musical evening.

SING TOGETHER - JEWS & CHRISTIANS - SEPTEMBER 26, 2018
Shaare Zedek Congregation hosted a very special evening with two communities,
who came together to sing in celebration of Israel's 70th.

 

SUKKOT - SEPTEMBER 23, 2018

Our congregants gathered together to help decorate the Sukkah for our Sundaes and Sambuca in the Sukkah event.

 

RAFFLE - JUNE 13, 2018

Shaare Zedek Congregation held its biggest fundraising gala event on June 13, 2018.  With a grand prize
of $18,000, door prizes, auctioned items, a scrumptious dinner, live entertainment with Cantor Benlolo
singing Paul Simon, along with his Community Choir, a wonderful evening was had by all.

 

70 Torahs for 70 Years

Shaare Zedek Congregation was honoured to be included in this special program - donating Sifrei Torah to the Israel Defense Forces
at the 70 Torahs for 70 years event. It
was a very special gathering when our community came together and donated Sifrei Torah 
Commencing at Beit Rambam Synagogue for services, the Parade ended at Beth Zion Congregation.

SZC's first ever Mimouna event 

The first ever Mimouna Celebration was a great success held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the evening. Over 120 guests
came out in support of this wonderful tradition of the Sephardic Culture.

SZC was invited to Parliament in Ottawa to light the Menorah

On the second night of Hanukkah, Rabbi Bright and SZC President, Nancy Cooperberg, and Jack Cooperberg,
along with two of Rabbi Bright's children; Haley and Haya, were invited to Parliament in Ottawa to light the Menorah,
alongside Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau and many other familiar faces.
