SISTERHOOD

Shaare Zedek Sisterhood was formed almost as soon as the Shul was built. Over the years we have made donations for the Congregation's needs. We have sponsored programs, we have educated ourselves, we have a book club, a film club, and Sunday speakers. We celebrate Rosh Chodesh and, in November Kabbalat Shabbat. We belong to International Women's League first Conservative Judaism and are linked with Women in Canada, the United States and South America.

SO WHO ARE WE? WE ARE YOU. WE ARE WOMEN OF ALL AGES. WE ARE MARRIED, SINGLE, MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS. WE ARE FRIENDS. DO WE HAVE LOADS OF TIME? MOST LIKELY NOT BUT WE EACH CAN FIND SOME ACTIVITY TO BE PART OF.

Please come and join us!

YOUR SISTERHOOD PRESIDENT

My name is Caryn Roll and I am the Shaare Zedek Sisterhood President.  I would like to thank the entire Shaare Zedek Sisterhood Executive and Board for bringing me into the fold and encouraging me to take on this leadership role.  Your encouragement and promise to work together as a team, made the daunting task of adding President to my busy schedule, seem very doable.

My personal goal for the next 2 years is to created an inter-generational place where women of all ages can learn together, contribute to their community and celebrate Jewish life in a welcoming environment.

The Women's League for Consertive Judaism's every triennial year convention, took place in Arlington Virginia July 2017.  It was a very uplifting and wonderful experience to be surrounded by over 400 like minded Jewish women.

Keep an eye on the weekly Shabbat Newsletter for information on ongoing programs and events.

If you are not already a Sisterhood member, why not join us? The membership dues are $32 and payable in person or by phone at the Shaare Zedek office.  Membership gives you access to the login section of the www.wjcj.org website and a portion of your dollars go toward maintaining the Women's League for Conservative Judaism.

The Sisterhood would like to wish you and your families a sweet New Year.
