SISTERHOOD MESSAGE
Many thanks to everyone who attended A Sweet New Year and certainly to the Sisterhood members who worked so hard to make it a success. We do not have one pot of honey left although we can still sell you three decorative packs! This year we not only showcased many new merchants, we also presented Mayme Vineberg, who gave a wonderful talk about the “art of the table.”
Sisterhood members also gave of their time and energy by volunteering at the first SZC blood drive. Their invaluable aid was much appreciated. By the time you receive this message, we will have enjoyed a book review by Dr. Stephanie King, plus our Jubilee pre- Chanukah high tea. In the near future we hope to offer regular Mah Jongg games. Watch for further announcements.
We may be celebrating Chanukah in November, but the holiday actually falls in late December. Please don't run around exhausting yourselves while doing your shopping. Ellen Pesner has everything you need for the festival from Chanukiahs to dreidels, bibs, decorations and much more, right here in the Sisterhood Gift Shop. We would be glad to serve you and you will be glad that you are supporting the Synagogue. VISIT THE SISTERHOOD GIFT SHOP FIRST!!
Although we are enjoying unbelievably lovely weather, many snow birds have already started to fly south! We wish them a healthy, happy, warm winter. To those of us who remain, we hope for good health and interesting programs, while for the skiers among us, we hope you find all the snowflakes you need—so long as the flakes fall far from Montreal!
